The main difference between a custard bun (奶黄包) and a salted custard bun (流沙包) is the slight savory taste that rounds out the sweetness. The Custard filling for the salted buns are runnier and run similarly to how Lava would drip down a volcano.

Cooking Instructions

1. Steam the buns from frozen in a steamer or a bamboo steamer, on a rapid boil high heat for 8-10 minutes depending on your stove.
